Euphony has become one of the country’s best known home phone
suppliers. Euphony is available all over the UK, as well as in the
Republic of Ireland.
First:Telecom
First:telecom was one of the vanguard of phone companies to challenge
BT’s dominance in the mid 1990s. First:telecom started up
in 1994 and has been offering customers savings on phone calls ever
since.
gotalk
gotalk is a division of WaveCrest, one of Europe’s leading
private telecommunications carriers. Gotalk is focused on providing
affordable telephone services to homes around the UK.
Kingston Communications
Kingston Communications is a division of Kingston, which allows
the company to provide home phone tariffs to customers across the
UK via Carrier Pre Selection. It was the first UK operator with
a fully digital network.
Kingston
Kingston was established in 1904 and is based in Hull. It now provides
residential telecom services for East Yorkshire and for businesses
across the UK and floated on the Stock Exchange in 1999.
Madasafish
Madasafish Talk is the home phone arm of the Madasafish broadband
provider. They are owned by the Brightview group and were established
in 2001.
Pipex Homecall
Pipex Homecall is the home phone service from Pipex Communications
Plc., with approximately one million customers nationwide, and growing
rapidly.

Post Office
The Post Office is a brand of The Royal Mail Group plc, which has
been providing the UK with postal services for over 350 years. Recently
the Post Office moved into the telecoms market by providing a new
landline tariff – Post Office Homephone.
Primus Planet Talk
Primus Planet Talk was established in the UK in 1996. Primus Planet
Talk supplies home phone services to over 2 million customers in
Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Spain
and the US.
Sky Talk
Sky Talk is part of British Sky Broadcasting (BSkyB). Sky operates
principally in the UK and Ireland, where all of its customers are
based. It now has over 7.4 million subscribers for its television
services.
Superline
Founded in Finland, Superline specialises in cheap calls. Superline
supplies the customer with a simple socket that attaches to the
existing wall socket and the phone, and then routes the calls through
the Superline network.
Swiftcall
The UK’s home phone market was privatised in the early 1990s,
and Swiftcall was launched soon after. With Swiftcall you can view
and pay your itemised bills online. You can also view your account
history.
Talk
Talk is a brand of Pathfinder Telecom Ltd. Pathfinder Telecom Ltd
was founded in 1997 and is part of the Pathfinder Group, a telecommunications
technology development and licensing group of companies.
TalkTalk (Carphone Warehouse)
TalkTalk was set up in 2003 by the Carphone Warehouse. The brand
is beginning to establish itself and already has over 900,000 customers.
TalkTalk aims to draw a further 1,000,000 customers by 2007.
Telecom Plus
Telecom Plus plc was established in 1997. Its aim is to provide
low-cost home and business phone services throughout the UK. The
main objective of Telecom Plus is to undercut monopoly suppliers
like BT.
Tesco Telecoms
Tesco began life as an East London market stall in the 1920s and
has since developed into a global brand with a reputation for family
quality and innovation. Tesco launched its home phone service in
2003.
Tiscali
Tiscali UK forms part of Tiscali SpA, which was founded in January
1998, following the deregulation of the Italian telecommunications
market. Today Tiscali is ranked fourth largest ISP in the UK.
Toucan
Toucan, which is part of IDT Europe, is available across the UK
and also offers residential internet services. Customers who opt
for both ToucanTalk and Toucan Surf can get both services listed
on a single bill.
